The Water Lane Reserve, Box Hill

Taylor Brammer as lead consultant has been working with The Hills Shire Council since 2019 on The Water Lane Reserve. The design includes the preparation of a comprehensive masterplan aimed at creating a new sporting facility and open recreation space for the community of Box Hill, Sydney. The Masterplan emphasises modern living while fostering a strong connection to the nature and history of the location.
The design includes several new amenities for the community such as an AFL and athletics field, local playground and cycle path network and contemporary public amenity buildings supported with new car parking and infrastructure.
The proposal creates an endemic vegetation ring to the parkland providing essential shade cover and re-introducing ecological diversity to the place. The design proposal incorporating water-sensitive urban design strategies to store, recycle and reuse water through the sporting field site.
Construction is anticipated to commence in 2025
