Client:  STH

The Mudgee Hospital Redevelopment started with the preparation of a comprehensive Masterplan of the existing hospital site with the aim to upgrade the campus to meet developing needs of the community whilst maintaining the generous landscape setting of the site. The design celebrates the regional  Landscape typology and integrates the biophilic nature of the Australian bush throughout the site and within the internal courtyards to maintain the visual and physical connection to nature throughout the new hospital buildings.

The upgraded campus provides the framework for Mudgee to operate as a district level health service providing services regionally and serves as a “hub” site for health service provision for the wider catchment area in the Mid-Western Regional LGA.

The design of the external environments celebrates the horticultural diversity of the region through the creation of a range of places unique to Mudgee. Internal and external courtyards, staff break out courtyard along with a therapeutic sensory garden have been created which epitomise health care in a modern environment.
