Therapeutic Garden Design

Extensive landscaped theme gardens feature across the site, providing a range of innovative landscape spaces designed for the well-being of the residents, staff and visitors. The planting has been carefully chosen to assist with a serene garden concept where reconnecting to nature and the healing power of plants can be fully realised. A large atrium brings natural daylight to the building and features a green wall and hanging plants. Integrated with the themed gardens are a range of on-site facilities, including: dining facilities, a swimming pool, gym, cinema, library, beauty salon, and Wellness Centre.

Award-Winning Aged Care Design

With the Mark Moran Group being recognised as the World's Best Seniors Planning and Aged Care Provider Global Awards, the project continues the themes of the warmth of nature, gathering and connecting with community in an exemplar form that celebrates the best in residential aged care.

The range and variety of safe and secure places, distinguished by deliberate and memorable planting themes makes, makes the project truly one of a kind and elevates the residents experience to new levels.

Planting Palette

The external plantings respond closely to the site's local character, with each garden offering its own distinct experience along the journey. The public entrance is framed by a Norfolk Island Pine, providing a striking centrepiece. Areas within the garden's north-eastern aspect, with their sandy soils, proved ideal for coastal planting — Banksias and Grevilleas feature prominently.

In the private residential areas, the planting takes on a more cottage and residential feel, layered with orchards, scented magnolias, aromatic herbs and flowering climbers. A working vegetable garden and bird aviary add everyday moments of life and activity, while a rooftop garden crowns the site with sweeping views over the grounds and out over Sydney Harbour.

The gardens unfold as a journey across the site. The public entrance is framed by a Norfolk Island Pine, fruiting olive trees, Cook Pines and Forest Pansy trees, with raised garden beds leading into the café area.

From there, the Meadow offers a nut orchard, flowing grasses and scented magnolias along a meandering path, before opening into the Secret Garden courtyard, planted with aromatic herbs around a pergola and water feature.

A citrus grove underplanted with meadow grasses leads through to the Scented Garden, with its native revegetation, sculptural planting and bird aviary, before arriving at the Market Garden vegetable patch and, above it all, a rooftop garden with feature planting and a viewing deck.
