Early Start Discovery Centre, The University Of Wollongong
Dharawal Nation
Taylor Brammer Landscape Architects were asked to design the external spaces of the Early Start Centre through their familiarity of the campus at the University of Wollongong where for 25 years we have nurtured the design and development of the landscape design of the campus.
The Early Start Centre is made up of four unique pillars. These are the Discovery Space, Research and Advocacy, Engagement Centre and Translation. Of these four pillars, it is the Discovery Space that Taylor Brammer Landscape Architects were engaged to design, develop and implement. This space is an interactive children’s play space that stimulates curiosity, nurtures creativity, builds confidence and provides families with opportunities for discovery and play.
The facility provides both indoor and outdoor learning opportunities and emphasises learning through play as a key component for children.
