Cronulla High School

Dharawal Nation

Taylor Brammer, in collaboration with Schools Infrastructure NSW and Fulton Trotter Architects, facilitated the masterplan and design outcomes realised in the upgrade of Cronulla High School, catering to approximately 1,300 students.

Established in 1961, the school is on the land of the Dharawal People approximately some 30km south of Sydney’s CBD in the Sutherland Shire. Located on a distinctive and narrow peninsula, the school is bound by the Woolooware lagoon to the west and Cronulla’s iconic coastal beaches to the east.

Completed in early 2025, the upgrade was guided by Connection to Country consultations with the local community. Stories of the Dharawal people are embedded into the design outcomes, influenced by the natural character of the coastal peninsula through materiality, form and texture across the new buildings, courtyards and school entry.

The landscape design incorporates sandblasted sandstone seating with an array of locally native fauna local, reinforcing connections to Country and providing educational opportunities for students.
