Village Park is a symbolic entrance to the Pittwater Peninsular. The park links to the broader urban fabric and open space areas surrounding the site and acts as a significant cultural and environmental heritage space of the area. Design elements include a central plaza, grass terrace and amphitheatre, library courtyard and streetscape works. An urban rooftop plaza was created above the library with a sunken rainforest courtyard that naturally lights the library. A dramatic grass terraced embankment that links seamlessly to the existing park. The park incorporated an existing war memorial and community space that provides an important focal area for the local community. The position of the Central Plaza provides a visual and physical link between the local businesses and has a direct relationship to the Community Hall and provides breakout space for events.
