Rydalmere Park Masterplan

Dharug Nation

Rydalmere Park Masterplan has created a new and vital open space for the community that recognises 21st Century recreation patterns. Through a process of a detailed investigation into the physical condition of the site, with extensive community consultation and a recreational need and trends analysis, the masterplan report provided the appropriate guidelines. Rydalmere Park has evolved to be a vital community hub and open space asset for the residents and community of Parramatta City Council.

The outcomes are:

  • A park design that facilitates contemporary and future recreation needs by creating a new identity that reflects the diversity and sophistication of the “new “ Parramatta.

  • A park that brings back the “park“ into Rydalmere Park

  • A park that acknowledges current uses (football, cricket, informal recreation) and realises its potential by becoming a more inclusive community destination.

  • A sophisticated reuse of existing assets including the former bowling club building (football field(s), bowling greens and mature vegetation

  • A park that provides a range of benefits and experiences, community gardens, bowls, playgrounds, capacity for multiple uses of sporting fields and potential social functions such as birthdays, weddings and community events
