Natura, Macquarie Park

Darug Country

Natura is a new residential community consisting of two 20 storey buildings with 357 residential apartments. The buildings are located over a shared landscape podium that offers articulated and sophisticated living opportunities set amongst the natural bushland and riverine corridor within the district of Macquarie Park.

The landscape design of Natura brings alive the warmth of nature through the seamless flow of the external designed environment and architectural expression that creates a new memorable community experience.

The landscape design approach is realised by fusing the supple and organic forms of nature’s proportions with the architectural expression across the site. The natural materials chosen of timber, water and organic plantings embrace the organisation of the organic dialogue that is expressed through the site. The adjacent natural surroundings and watercourse of Shrimpton’s Creek consolidate the overall design approach.

The landscape design incorporates a human scale that encourages the use and enjoyment of a wide range of external environments. These include: sinuous forms of paths and fine texture of the planting in the garden beds, reflective pools, public art sculptures, swimming pool, pavilion/function space, green rooms, rooftop gardens, exercise areas and custom seating nooks. These environments engage with the five senses and creates a sense of calm, wellbeing and a series of moments.

This engagement of light, the sound of nature, scents and textures creates an awareness of Natura as a distinctive, elegant and memorable experience.
